In honor of Derek Jeter’s birthday, my friends and I thought it was a great idea to not just celebrate the hottest man in pinstripes but to grill out as well! We made some delish grilled chicken, grilled corn (with Old Bay of course), and sauteed squash and zucchini, YUM.
I also took the time to test out an idea that I am planning to make for this upcoming holiday weekend. Chocolate covered pretzel rods with sprinkles! I saw this idea on on of my fav blogs, Cupcakes & Cashmere and have been dying for an excuse to make them ever since! Below are some pics of the ones I made tonight, I will share my patriotic version later this week.
Here is a pic of DJ from my trip to Tampa in March for Spring Training. Pretty sure I’ve captured his good side.
My attempt at chocolate covered pretzels rods, complete with birthday inspired sprinkles and nonpareils. Don’t mind the rando bottle of wine and faux plant. I will say they tasted amazing, I used my personal favorite, dark chocolate.
Overall, Derek’s birthday party was a success! Good food, good friends, and a Yankees win!
Now to count the milliseconds till next weeks long 4th of July weekend.
